Daily Briefing ·
Featuring Jack Farley, Ash Bennington, and Ed Harrison

Published on: November 11th, 2020 • Duration: 38 minutes

Senior editor, Ash Bennington, and managing editor, Ed Harrison, break down the pausing of the rotation out of growth and into value as cases and hospitalization in the U.S. surge to unseen levels. Ash breaks down Bill Ackman's hedge against investment grade credit, and Ed explores how much central bank liquidity there is on the sidelines waiting to buoy asset prices. The pair also discuss taxes, the outcome of the U.S. elections, as well as Ed's upcoming interview with Michael Howell. In the intro, editor Jack Farley looks at credit spreads and gives a sneak peek of Real Vision's upcoming interview series with investing legends such as Jeremy Grantham, Jim Grant, Jim Chanos, Kiril Sokoloff, Sam Zell, Chamath Palihapitiya, Hugh Hendry, Raoul Pal, Kyle Bass, and Russell Napier.

Have you guys even looked into the election? Doesn't sound like it. Simply obvious MASSIVE FRAUD of all kinds by the Dems will not stand the investigations. This will go to the SC and IMO they will be Forced to find for Trump. Even the mainstream debt slaves won't be able to ignore this and it will be another example of system failure which will eventually lead to a major reset. Also in the cross hairs will be the corrupt mainstream media and online social platform bias/manipulation and free speech issues. An election from Hell which will prove to be a major factor in the unfolding paradigm shift. Those like you guys seem to be that are caught wanting everything to get back to what passed for 'normal' and therefore have their perceptions distorted/biased will not be enjoying life for a long time, to say the least. This is a shift of major proportions for all humanity and demands mental fluidity and a willingness to face facts - 'normality' is toast. We ain't in Kansas no mo, Alice!

Not sure how it is in other countries, but in Brazil if a person dies of Covid then the Government pays for the funeral. There is a lot of "Covid death cases" popping up in Brazil because of it. If an employee gets Covid on the job he gets 2 weeks off and can sue the employer to get paid a good sum of money. And so it goes. All the wrong incentives are there for Covid cases to be blown out of proportions. However, I recognize that there is a narrative built around it and that it is a powerful force. I dare say the narrative is more powerful than the actual disease.

Hi, Joining the chorus to add Ackman to your interview list. Also, I keep seeing Ray Dalio going on conventional news media talking about his LinkedIn essays and also, advising people to be long on China. If getting him to deep dive on his views, especially if he is willing to speak to someone who holds a sceptical view of China, would be a great coup. May I also suggest reaching out to George Friedman who has a bullish case on the US (bearish on China) while simultaneously having similar views to Neil Howe on a cyclical history of US. I notice George and Neil see different patterns to the cycles but ultimately argue we are entering a decade of regime change. Thanks RV team - looking forward to the next content campaign!

Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai (PhD from MIT and inventor of e-mail) did a live stream today about the statistical improbabilities - some might say impossibilities - in the votes in some states. In that context, I'm not sure why Ash thinks President Trump will concede. Some of the smartest people in the world are calling bs. I'm strongly opposed to both Trump and Biden so I don't have a horse in this race, but the election irregularities give me great concern.

He didn't say he thinks President DJT "will" concede; that might be something one could assign some probability of outcome to. He said he thinks the President "should" concede. Big Difference.

FACT: President DJT has said numerous times he will not concede the election. OPINION: Bennington says "he thinks" the President should concede the election. It's been interesting to watch Bennington slyly slip his personal political views into the daily briefings after having stated from the get-go that he would stay objective and refrain from doing that.

Poor thing. It must be so difficult for you to even hear anyone say anything that might remotely upset your personal political sensibilities. After Ash so rudely hurt your feelings by his heinous act of making a very mild statement about the current state of a particular political situation, I want you to know that we are all here for you as you struggle to get to the other side of this devastating loss.

I would disagree that someone saying the guy who lost should concede is a political opinion in general. DJT said he won't concede but he's just being a sore loser at this point.

Mark this RV DB down as one of the good ones. Lots of quantitative information, by all three, and some interesting ideas. If nothing else, a lot of the stories and forces that play into our world, economy, and markets are looked at and contextualized. We do not have to have specific outcomes to state at the end. This si great. Also, the Mets were mentioned.
