RMJim Chanos on August 1 - ‘This market is setting up to be one of the great short opportunities of all time. Trouble’s coming, I don’t know when, but it’s coming.’

BEEd says 2020 has been an apocalyptic year, and he can't wait for things to calm down. Unfortunately, we live in the age of runaway climate change. Things will only get much, much worse.

BBRecession maybe over but the depression continues.

ABThe split on learning more/less with remote learning is mostly due to family background. Those students with their own space and supportive families and a good work ethic thrive, but put the same work ethic on a student with a disruptive family or cramped house with young children and it becomes very difficult to learn. I see this with my own students.

TMNice work, guys. Always appreciate the effort put into these. These daily updates act as a key input and challenge to my current investment thinking/process. Helps keep me from thinking I’ve got it all figured out. Constant learning and improvement.

TBBryce looks physically fine but mentally devastated. This is not killing us physically, and we can change it!
-
INBest wishes for the recovery to brother Bryce.

ssMy wife has had it twice. First time: 104 temp, tired, burning chest and cough, 3 days, fully recovered. Second time: 101 temp, aches and pains, lost taste and smell, 10 days recovered, but 4 weeks later still no taste or smell. It would seem (anecdotally) the virus is changing. Kids and I never caught it from her, but we isolated her in part of the house and disinfected like our lives depended on it. BTW, she’s a flight attendant. Wonder where she caught it? Take care of the ones you love— the virus is nasty.

LSI wondered if maybe Uniswap's spectacular token distribution event would get a mention but maybe DeFi still too underground for a show like Real Vision.
-
MCGet well Bryce. Nice to hear the Bezzle coming back! Often a topping signal?
-
mwOf course it's the right thing to re-open campus. Imagine paying the highly inflated tuitions of today and you end up having to do online classes.
-
DSFor analysis, the federal COVID transfer payments should be eliminated from the GDP. It will show a different picture. DLS

BKThanks Ash and Ed!

DSMr. Zuccoli, I have faith that you will make it through well. Be careful in your recovery to rest. Most of your education comes after university. University opens the doors. This virus is very unpredictable in the short and long run. I have a Swiss friend who at 85 is positive for COVID-19 without symptoms even after the 14-day quarantine. There is more than meets the eye with virus. Your health is top priority. DLS

JAHe'll be fine. My Portuguese grandparents lost 7 of their 13 children children to the plague, and they didn't let it get them down. People are too soft now a day. My apologies if that's insensitive, but no one said life is easy.
-
HBEd & Ash, thanks for Bryce segment. My thoughts are with him & his family. Please keep us in the loop about his situation.
-
KMDespite all of the charms that 2020 has provided for us I personally suspect the volatility hasn't even begun yet.
