IGGreat! Don't agree with everything, but it is great to see different approaches here.

BCWhile this appears to be a sound system (certainly validated by the track record and the long term dividend advantage), it would be wise to recognize that the (relatively short) track record has been established during one of the biggest yield seeking environments of all time. What happens in a 20-30 year rising interest rate period or a period where growth rules & dividends are less in demand?

TSUnderstand the Data Science approach etc. but at best like driving the car forward looking out the rear view mirror. One can answer: What happened, What is likely to happen and What should I do? Work best in predictable and static environments but the "what" always has a percent factor. I would perhaps use DS as one leg of a stool but mostly for ruling *out* things rather than in.

RMI suspect their success comes from selecting high quality companies (ie: those with stable and high ROEs). This makes the high dividend story a smokescreen. Its a simple fact that a company with a high ROE that can also reinvest its earnings rather than pay them out will see much higher total returns. I suspect this superfluous (and actually 2nd best) story about dividends gathers them more clients in this era of the reach for yield. Robert Meyer.
