A Summer Road Trip Across Markets – Live with Mish Schneider

Live ·
Featuring Mish Schneider

Published on: July 28th, 2020 • Duration: 57 minutes

Gold is on a tear, Bitcoin is playing catch up, equities extend their march upwards, and rates continue to fall. How does all this play out? Will stagflation materialize? What are commodities, particularly sugar telling us about inflation expectations? What do all these things mean for the short, medium, and long term? And above all, how can we trade this wild market? This is where fan favorite Mish Schneider comes into the picture. She will be sitting down with Max Wiethe in this week’s segment of Real Vision Live to update us on market conditions through the lens of her modern economic family while breaking down how participants should be thinking about allocating capital during these times of heightened volatility across asset classes. Great thing to look forward to Max - integrating the charts with the video piece, once the technology allows for it. Having a link to download them just below the video works for me.

@Realvision staff - is there a way to create an alert on the user account that alerts you to activity on videos you've posted comments to or even have an alert of responses to ones comments?

@18.45 minutes - Mish is talking about social conscious investing. How much of that is a factor today or is that more of a medium to longer term theme? Also, how much of this is retail vs pension fund flow driven? My starting point is, yes lots of governments were pushing the whole eco-consciousness / ESG theme and sans covid that would be good. With COVID, a lot of governments may have to pull back that ESG push (ie. regulations etc). Is this a wrong assumption? Are there signs that the ESG push hasn't actually let up? Will COVID potentially escalate the ESG push? Ie. the governments say hey we have to reset anyway, lets reset towards ESG?

Mish is a lovely person, but what she adds I can get other places than RV. This is not Macro, and, despite her protests, if this isn't specifically short term trading, it is focused on short term strategy. No fundamentals at all.

That is interesting as Neil (and many others) has just the opposite to say "Really love everytime Mish is on, because she enforces the need to play what is currently happening and working vs the struggle of investing in what you think should be happening. A++++!" So, if you focus solely on the fundamentals, and what you (or anybody for that matter) thinks the macro might be, not a successful formula to make money. Regardless, I only wish you the best in your trading...

Would you be so kind as to tell us what do you expect on that for the next months? I always appreciate your comments and views on the market; many thanks for the generosity of sharing them with us.

Always enjoy listening to her take on a variety of little known industries. I very much agree with her thoughts on Robinhood. Since there are only two huge segments of the population, the boomers and the millennials, it only makes sense to know what both are doing and how. If she likes it I'm either in or watching closely.

Very interesting discussion, as always. Thanks for taking time to do this. I wondered about the impact of general macro themes, beyond socially conscious investing, for example, on your trading and what impact they might have. In particular, there may well be an upswing in fiscal spending going into the election to stimulate the economy. Does this influence your thinking on particular instruments (assuming you agree with this)?

Totally. I have about 12 megatrends and one major macro theme we covered alot in my last RV appearance and not too much on this one-Stagflation...you might want to go back to the one Max and I did in May. Thanks!
