For investors who wish to opt-out of market mania, paying attention to secular trends and the companies that land themselves in the middle of them can help minimize the impact of bubbles on one’s portfolio. Ophir Gottlieb, CEO of Capital Market Laboratories, joins Real Vision editor Max Wiethe to discuss the upcoming secular trends that he is observing and how investors can take advantage of them. Gottlieb talks about three specific companies that offer forward-looking growth opportunities that go beyond any market bubbles that present themselves, explaining what his high conviction trades are: Pinterest ($PINS), Jumia ($JMIA), and CuriosityStream ($CURI). Max - got an interview somewhere?! :P I wouldn't put too much weight on app store reviews...very easy to game. Fake reviews are also an issue on Amazon... Jumia - Compelling thesis, love the concept of e-commerce combined with African demographics, but the insane cash burn and losses and the relatively weaker rule-of-law and infrastructure, especially the runup in stock price over the LTM, insane.... I'd be more inclined to invest in E&C infrastructure plays (roads, bridges, airports, and ports) when it comes to Africa. That being said, I'd be tempted to dip my toes on a pullback for a 5-10 year horizon... Pinterest - very interesting. Great point on the anti-hostility angle...makes plenty of sense. People are stuck bored at home, had enough of the polarizing us vs. them stuff in mainstream and social media...time for some art & craft projects with junior and home decor inspirations. Great conversation!! Please have Mr. Gottlieb back on a regular basis. Need more deep-dives on individual names like this...

Are you asking for the interview where we discussed $CURI? It was just a section: https://www.realvision.com/shows/the-interview/videos/how-frothy-markets-have-created-a-bull-market-in-short-selling.

Ophir is THE MAN. As a CML subscriber, can say his research is incredible. As this interview highlights, not just another bull, a very thoughtful person with a thoughtful process. Willing to explore the risks and bear case for each pick.

Loved this guy's intensity. Appreciated that he believed he could make a better bear case than his counter parts on some of his picks. Will have to check out his twitter...

Marc Cohodes once mentioned that a stock picker knows the company inside out and Ophir is that type of person. Should be a regular guest on Real Vision.

Cinedigm (CIDM) is another pure play streamer worth a look. I have no affiliation with the company. The CEO, Chris McGurk, served as COO at MGM and is credited with reinvigorating MGM's digital content strategy. Smart leader and widely respected in the industry.
