The first week of Retirement: What You Don’t Know Will Bankrupt You was designed to establish a foundational understanding of the crisis at hand. In the second week, Raoul Pal, Real Vision CEO, presents a roster of contributors that have been carefully selected to bring innovative solutions to the forefront. Up first is Ramsey Smith who developed a creative way to simplify complex and costly products. Then Dean McClelland comes on to discuss how he is revolutionizing one of the oldest methods for retirement saving: the tontine.

Dude, just check an IUL policy. Also immediate income annuity essentially plays off the same concept. You guys should look into a gentleman named Wade Pfau. But like always, great content Realvision.

Just occurred to me that the best piece of advise with the largest impact for a lot of people is buried in the Pig in the Python segment. If you and your kids can manage to live together the numbers can be significant. My son pays about 25k a year in rent in D.C. My daughter's mortgage is about the same plus 6k in property taxes. Try and find an investment that pays 25k after tax and requires an investment of $0.

Daughter has her own home close to the city, son is out of state. But if they wanted the home we probably would have cut them a deal.

Raoul, I think your old Goldman buddy owes you big time (unless he paid you) to come on RV and hawk his annuity product.

The Simpsons made an episode where Grandpa Simpson entered into a tontine with his former army buddies, I believe this to be a case study of what is to come.

It will be interesting to see how the new tontine will be structured in an age with such low interest rates. I believe the old tontines were based on the distribution of interest only without touching the capital. The last person alive wins. DLS
