Featuring Daniel J. Arbess

Published on: December 6th, 2020 • Duration: 26 minutes

Renowned macro manager Dan Arbess, outlines to Michael Green the opportunities in 'Virtualization'—the displacement of capex and labor with integrated hardware/software – as a service. He sees this as a powerful driver of the next corporate profit cycle and competitiveness, benefitting shareholders but increasing wealth concentration and creating headwinds to job growth, which ultimately could challenge the consumer economy globally. this interview has been in my mind since I first saw it. I thought it was brilliant then, 3 years later it's even better.

hmmm, whomever decided to 're-release' this one unlikely there are technolgists. When it was first filmed back in 2017 this subject was old news even then. In round numbers go back even further say 10 years to around 2007 would have been a time when Virtulisation became a hot topic in the Compute and Networking Industry with the likes of HP, VWM, Cisco, Amazon and Others etc when multiple new products and services were released

Agree. What themes would you recommend to RV for future interviews?

He isn't talking about it in such narrow terms.

@CB, what themes you ask. Ans: learn how to use Options I mean really learn all the Strategies which has NEVER even been attempted since the inception of RV. I've often wondered why that might be. The best I can come up with being it probably takes on average two years of daily full immersion in the subject to reach just an average level of competence and longer still to be really competent. The prize at the end of few years of work, its entirely possible to trade and invest without TA charting, without fundamentals research, without Macro narratives, without daily news and vitally important without the opinions of others.

If there is anyway to get Dan back on Real vision that would be great. Just from the 25 minutes interview it's very easy to tell that Dan has a lot to say and a lot of knowledge behind what he has to say. Also really helps that Mike is a great interviewer who's smart and able to leverage that intelligence into good questions for the interviewee
