Published on: November 6th, 2020 • Duration: 51 minutes

Charles McGarraugh, chief strategy officer of Blockchain.com, joins Michael Nicoletos, co-founder & CIO of AppleTree Capital, to discuss the crypto markets, macro, current structural volatility, and the applications of blockchain. McGarraugh goes into detail about the impact of technological change on market structures and the importance of hard assets, such as Bitcoin during times of structural change. Key Learnings: Blockchain is a disintermediating technology, and as it gains more widespread adoption, the more traditional markets are at risk of being disrupted. Great topic for deeper discussion. I'd love to learn which specific technologies and digital assets are driving Web 3.0 or as others put it, The Internet of Value. The other one which was mentioned early in the discussion is Supply Chain provenance. I'd love to know Charles's thoughts on VE Chain and XRP and how they fit into this discussion for the future of payments/transfer of value and supply chain governance.
