Rally: The Tokenization of Creator & Fan Economies

The Interview - Crypto ·
Featuring Kevin Chou and Ash Bennington

Published on: March 29th, 2021 • Duration: 61 minutes

Kevin Chou, CEO & founder of Rally, joins Real Vision senior editor Ash Bennington to discuss esports, brand monetization, tokenomics, driving value through fan economies, and the global flow of crypto. Seeing how difficult it has been for streamers to monetize content, Chao founded Rally to answer the question, “How do we leverage this emerging new technology of cryptocurrency to enable people with large audiences to monetize their brand?” Chou describes crypto as having many unique properties that enable content creators to monetize their brand and create a digital economy around themselves. Chou notes that through the development of fan economies, creators and fans alike have been able to engage with one another in new and personal ways. These economies or memberships, in turn, provide new forms of value through the selling and trading of access to super archives in which unique memorabilia such as clips, audio files, and virtual hangouts are being exchanged. Key Learnings: Chou believes that whether you have an esports game, Twitch stream, Discord channel, blog, podcast, or YouTube channel that receives millions of views, crypto will enable creators to monetize their brand in advantageous ways. Chao describes Rally as a tool for brands with global fanbases to take their digital items, monetize their brand, and branch out in a way that makes sense for the internet world. Rally aims to deconstruct the assets of the virtual economy and put the tools in the hands of creators to directly interact within their own fan economies.
