Nowadays DAI just tends to be a additional layer of risk on USDC. The 50 % drop in eth price within one day, really killed the concept of DAI. Real world assets would obviously be censurable and confiscatable which would ruin the very concept of DAI, it would remove its core function as a decentralized stable coin. At that point and time it has lost its core competitive edge and will through regulatory arbitrage be bypassed easily by USDC. Like most things on eth and DeFi, The Maker concept has pretty much become a sh*tshow of epic portions.
