CW90% of millennials are not socialists! Haha

DMAn excellent interview. Even though I am a High School English teacher, he was eloquent when it came to instilling intellectual curiosity and educating his children. He's right about homeschooling and the ability for it to unleash a child's intellectual potential.
-
BPi find Kiril's view far to general, almost to the point that they are of little use. Timing is everything and Kiril's views take a notion of "eventually, this will happen". For instance, one could short equities now, be right in 15 years, but get wiped out before then. Timing is everything.

edThank you RV and Mr. Sokoloff for this wonderful Holiday gift. For anyone not already familiar with Mr. Sokoloff's book, "Personal Transformation: An Executive's Story of Struggle and Spiritual Awakening", I cannot recommend it enough. It is required reading for my 3 sons... everything I dream of them becoming (honest, grateful, persevering, courageous, compassionate, spiritually dedicated and most of all loving) is in Mr. Sokoloff's incredibly inspiring story.
-
MSWhat are his views on Macron now? Macron the ex-Rothschilds banker (2008-2012) placed in power by the very central banking powers that Kiril claims to hate at the start of the interview. Why is it so hard for people to join the dots, sometimes? It's hiding right there in plain site. I agree with Kiril on his dream for a second European Renaissance, Europe is a unique and wonderful thing in this world, there is nowhere like it, the best of all things have come from there. But with the centralized banking powers of the world wishing to form a single block made up of a Euro-African race, easily controllable and obedient, I don't hold much hope for that vision to come to fruition; in fact, it is the end of the European peoples as we know it, and all by design. This is the New World Order - it's not a conspiracy theory, it's as real as day. Bankers, industrialists, money men do not care about cultures and traditions, they care about power consolidation and domination and great wealth. Until this is addressed frankly, honestly and directly.... things will not only not change, they will continue to worsen. All the censorship and fabricated "hate speech" laws are evidence of this dark movement.

HJA session between Kyle Bass and K would be interesting to put it mildly!
-
PDGreat stuff. Probably the most convincing and thoughtful of all the bulls that RV has had on recently, Good contra-insights on India, China, Japan and Europe. Comments that the Chinese are building quantum computing capabilities that are a million times greater than anything out there seemed optimistic. Will definitely need to Google that. Other than that another great hour with RV.
-
HJIt’s been almost a year since this interview, it’s time for a follow up. If you can ask him to come back to examine changes in the world and his views...... Does he still wear the glasses? Very interesting. Thank you Raoul.
-
RKIrony is you are nobody in life until you have made it financially. The most of the brilliant minds we might not have seen or heard of , might have lived and died quietly.
-
DLThe last segment when Kiril says "My Dream always was to instill in the girls a love of learning and curiosity," sums up how I feel about life now at 30. I feel like it took me too long to spark that flame (probably because of the schooling system as he says now that I look back on it). Really enjoyed his perspective and hope to find a pair of those glasses! (ps - if anyone knows what those glasses are called please reply and let me know!)
-
TEI really noticed how Kiril became more animated and forceful in his demeanor when talking about the education of his girls. My wife and I are facing the same dilemma deciding how to educate our daughter, and appreciated hearing the views of someone who has obviously been very curious and achieved an enormous breadth of knowledge himself in his lifetime. As another friend puts it, there is no "teaching," there is only "learning." The role of the educator is to inspire the pupil to learn, and provide guidance on how to best achieve that. They current system really does fail in many respects to achieve this, it seems.
-
SUGreat interview, excellent and interesting questions. Appreciated!
-
IVAmazing!
-
YBThough the interview had minimal useful investing info, it was just interesting to hear from this man for two reasons: (1) his attitude toward his deafness and (2) his suggestion to live life "twice each day."
-
rdRP's best interview to date, well done
-
RSAbsolutely brilliant. Really like it.
-
MAOne of the best interviews, changed my perspective on a lot of things. He's also killing us with those german energy glasses!!! I googled for a while and couldnt get them and then realised maybe the comment section has an answer, turns out they are just as lost.
-
DKI'm patiently waiting for Raoul to come out directly and tell Americans to flee the country. Our future continues to darken. I am hoping I have enough time left to finish school and escape before everything implodes.
-
LCI enjoyed this beyond anything else gor a v long time! As a parent of a 10 year old girl and as an investor and career in finance, 🙏👍
-
BMAnybody has a sense of how much is a 13D subscription?
-
JDIt may be interesting to ask Kiril what he thinks Musk, Brin, Page, Zuckerberg, et al's responsibilities are for the future.
-
AGThe glasses Kiril is referring are definitely Nucalm. Kiril says it himself here: https://twitter.com/MarkYusko/status/944436888416477184 A little confusing given the website describes it not as light emitting glasses but as a system that includes a light blocking eye mask. http://www.nucalm.com/NuCalm-Wellness/how-nucalm-works.cfm
-
NCFantastic interview. I'm lucky to be a subscriber to 13D and read it as soon as it arrives each week. Kiril is really one of the best thinkers out there. Also, this is link to the glasses - one of his associates sent it to me : http://www.oirf.com/pdf/FIT%20915.pdf
-
AFThx Raoul. Really loved this interview. Had so many aspects that left me more fascinated about Kiril.
-
PRBest interview of the year! What is the name of the company that produces the energy glasses? I want to buy one.
-
SSwow super enlightening conversation. Well done RV!
-
CCThis is one of the best RV interviews. Just fascinating, and i like the focus on long term and big picture thinking. An obvious RV follow on could be a series on quantum computing - what it is, why it is so disruptive, who are the leading innovators, etc.
-
EBI honestly didn't like this interviewee at all. No value except the German glasses. Am I the only one who noticed everything he said was pretty much mainstream establishment consensus? You could read everything he said on Reuters and CNN. There was no original thinking, and it's no surprise: 13D is an organization with 50! Researchers! Way too big and averagey when you're surrounded by 50 filters. To me a quality original interview is the Marc Cohodes piece for example.
-
aggreat discussion. He does appear to have rather different views on China and Europe than those of GPF, which is a Geopolitical group run by George Friedman. Be interesting to see who is correct on these big picture calls. Lets do another one with Sokoloff in about 2 years or so ?
-
JHThis was fantastic, and delivered just as Raoul promised -- in terms of high-level, global macro thinking. My favourite part was the philosophical musing at the beginning with regards to blindness and deafness, and developing a sense of the world...deep wisdom worth reflecting on. Thank you RV.
-
PJBrilliant interview has put into words so many things that my gut has been telling me that brain wasn't
-
SDKiril Sokoloff is a reamrkably erudite man but da Vinci "as the greatest scientist, probably, until Einstein" Surely not. There are many who ought to rank above the great Renaissance polymath. Isaac Newton would perhaps rank above all, probably including Einstein himself. Einstein, in 1919 wrote "No one must think that Newton’s great creation can be overthrown in any real sense by this [Theory of Relativity] or by any other theory. His clear and wide ideas will for ever retain their significance as the foundation on which our modern conceptions of physics have been built. " I liked this interview a great deal, but the pedant in me can't let that Da Vinci assertion pass.
-
JLBeen reading 13D for years. Single best publication in the world. Great to have him on. And yes, nucalm is what he refers to. I have had a unit for a year or so. They are fantastic
-
TEWithout it being mentioned i'd have had no idea Mr Sokoloff was deaf. That's pretty incredible in itself.
-
NGRaoul, sorry but I do not understand why? This is the first person in RV who makes the point about the real killer app of BTC i.e. decentralized store of value to free up citizens from the monetary control of the central banks and governments, and yet your only answers to it are: "for me it is a bit of a fantasy" "today it is impossible to be the answer due to its high daily volatility". Oh, come on! I really want to read from you proper arguments. I read your superb analysis in Macro Investors and I cannot believe you do not have anything else. I hope you reply here. I really would like to hear from you more deeply on this topic. Thanks anyway! Superb interview. You continue to rise the level of RV.
-
jswho makes the glasses he is talking about that helps with sleep and memory??
-
VMGreat interview! I think the glasses are this--- https://www.goayo.com/
-
DSI keep checking back in case some kind and smart Real Visionary has cracked the link to these German energy glasses! 13D is definitely institutionally priced (unfortunately)
-
JEGreat interview, such breadth.... So many interesting references in this interview. Love it. Be it the Robert Kuok Memoir, Walter Isacson's book, or the glasses from Germany. A notes section (with links, dare I dream) from references given within the interview would be a great way to add value to subscribers. Happy and Prosperous New Year to all....
-
GPAwesome, Thanks RV
-
BPExcellent. Please interview him again in the near future.
-
AGGreat Interview, thank you very much. Can we get link to glasses Kiril mentioned?
-
CTinterview of the year
-
MBIf Kiril sees the US falling behind!!! Where the hell does that leave the UK???? Eeeeekkkkk
-
DSTotal national isolationism does not worked in the long run. - look at the Ming dynasty in China and the Tokugawa Shogunate in Japan. Today China and Japan are practicing a type of cultural isolationism and control coupled with internationalism in trade. With "America First" the US is moving toward isolationism and control, but unilateral trade agreements may not be win/win for the US trading partners. Mr. Sokoloff discusses the possibility that US trade agreements may drive smaller countries away from the US into large trading blocks if the US trade agreements are win/lose. American trade agreements may be improved with the America First policy, but the trade agreements still need to be win/win. Of course, trade policies are only one dimension of the America First policy. DLS

KEKiril is such an interesting and enlightening person, WOW. On one hand I'd love to have a beer with him and ask him thousands of questions. On the other hand I would be frightened to look really dumb... Thank you for this really interesting Interview!
-
RHExcellent interview. Such optimism. He’s definitely ‘glass half full’.
-
JDPhenomenal.... This is Real Vision at its very BEST....
-
SSGreat interview Raoul - thanks! The range of knowledge displayed is amazing and humbling, people like this are truly an inspiration.
-
RAOne of the absolute best and I’ve seen almost all of them! A very early RV segement (maybe the author that interviewed Basketball Coach John Wooden?) talked about having the 5 people in your “Circle of Competence” all be smarter than you are. For me, Real Vision is MY circle of competence and continues to expose me to the kind of thinking and analysis that I just can’t find anywhere else. It was an honor to spend an hour with this fine Gentleman and I felt humbled in his digital presence. Thanks guys for yet another blockbuster interview!
-
TMWow, just wow. An incredible tour de force!
-
MYAmazing Thank You
-
DSSleepwellspecs.com? Ps: really enjoyed the interview. This helped make the decision to send our daughter to a Montessori school.
-
JOIn a word, marvelous.
-
LKI don't know which company he is referring to but https://vielight.com/neuro-alpha-gamma/ sells glasses from $299 to $1749 that uses photobiomodulation.
-
MNGreat interview. I didn't understand the part where Kiril said no commodity has declined three years in a row, hasn't there been loads of commodities that have 'achieved' this?
-
RMExcellent. These are my favorite types of interviews. Taking his comments and GMO's recent quarterly letter, need to spend more time looking at investing in EM markets and India. Very helpful stuff.
-
KMThis was the best interview I have seen on Real Vision. Brilliant
-
PBAbsolutely brilliant and thought provoking.
-
FGThis may be the best interview has produced. I am in full agreement with james e.
-
jeFor thumbs down, I think RV should require at least one reason to be stated. This guy is brilliant, humble and has a breadth of experience and thought and I would like to understand the reasons for someone voting thumbs down. Maybe I missed something. This was excellent IMO.
-
WPIt is this type of interview that makes RV so different and so valuable. Absolutely spot on!
-
IPcould someone who put thumbs down on the interview explain why? I'm not criticizing their view, I would like to understand, because I don't....
-
DCthank you for this great interview. just thank you
-
SRJust brilliant! I find myself agreeing with so many of his thoughts and observations, especially in tech where I've been saying the same things for years too. Its great when someone comes long like this that also thinks along the same lines as myself, its not only refreshing, but adds additional credibility to my own thoughts and observations and that I'm not just the odd one out.
-
BPFantastic. Simply awesome interview. One smart dude.
-
TBReal Vision is like the master Japanese craftsman renowned for creating the finest works of perfection. Then, defying all expectations and a few laws of physics, takes his craft beyond perfection, into the sublime. Just amazing.
-
PNI really enjoyed this interview while I disagreed with much of it. For example it doesn't matter what Xi says about wanting to trade with others when the reality is China's government uses its bureaucracy to make it extremely difficult to export anything but raw materials to them. Or the, this time its different, view on China's command and control economy. I found Mr. Sololoff's life advice was fabulous and I think that it is really his views on tech are really interesting. The future, as always, is cloudy.
-
JBThat was simply the best interview I've ever seen, financial or otherwise. It evoked joy, humour, and optimism, but also fear and concern. It was like an encapsulated microcosm of human life. It didn't matter the question or topic, everything really came back to the human element, to the psychology, dare I say, to spirituality. He's so grounded and his thinking just soaked in experience, and yet his humility is so evident. Thank you for this, truly wonderful.
-
VSNot once in all kiril talk did he mention “politics” ie how society should live! In this end China will collapse as the USSR did. This is a Communist nation. It will end from debt ,or hyperinflation... as always. The EU will also end because no commission can dictate to 500 million people what to do. The US trend under Trump has the best chance. Here is a point to ponder: the worlds Central banks have so distorted investment via QE and negative rates that NOT ONE PRICE IN THE WORLD IS ACCURATE. GOOD LUCK
-
NHfabulous interview on a myriad of topics. I was hoping that since you are a bull on the dollar and kiril is a bear that you would have hashed this out between the two of you. Perhaps you can let us know why your argument for a strong dollar is more compelling as he makes a compelling case as well as to why it will fall.
-
RPThank you, for this extraordinary conversation.
-
RLon these kinds of topics, I may suggest an interview with Vacla Smil(not mkts related but encyclopedic knowledge)
-
IPI really loved this thank you!
-
CHWhat a fascinating man
-
AARV, give us the name of the company with the energy glasses :) This interview is definitely in All time Top 3 of RV
-
PSI can't download audio ????? Why no link on this video specifically
-
LKLOVED THIS!!!! World Class interview..... this is what makes RV Special!!!
-
CADoes anyone know the white/red light glasses that Kiril refers to in this interview? Thanks!
-
BBThank you. Brilliant thinking, and both authoritative and humble presentation. It seems the biggest question of today is whether we will live in a human civilization or not. Technology in itself is neutral, as everything, but if we don’t preserve our humanity, technology (such us microchipping children, GMO, Facebook) will make our society like a rich man without character.. not sustainable.
