CLWe need to stop these. The links are so weak it's not even worth listening too.

RKVery civilized discussion. Unlike the situation on the ground where the 10% of the population openly sings about killing the Boer (white farmers/settlers): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vjb0w67PZ8 . And a taste of the current "parliamentary" culture: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qfbo5GXiMpo This is not the South Africa on a reform path. Several factors to think about: - decades long brain drain (count the South African emigres in your network) - very high unemployment with very low education level in the population - failing basic infrastructure (think water) - extreme populism, tribal culture South Africa has more apartheid now than ever.

CYHaving lived for a while in South Africa, it was fun to see the Knock-on Effect crew talk about a food dear to every South African's heart. Although the context is about ZAR getting itself a *lekker thrashing, it's nevertheless fun. Also thanks for the explanation about mechanisms of the flow of dollars relative to how the global's assets and currencies perform. I know the concept from watching RV speakers as well as personal readings - but nice to hear the explanation and realise I actually know the meaning without any read to rewind. (Three months ago, I didn't know any of this stuff)
