Wow, fortunately I read the comment section before even viewing the video and so I knew if was a spoof before even starting. *** Although for a moment I thought is WAS a regular style video as the guest had on the obligatory "whacked-out" socks that are normally sported on RV nowadays! <smile>!!!

Loved the humour. But I hope you can remain unbiased even with sponsors on board, that’s what makes RV different from the CNBCs out there.

Nothing wrong with trying whatever. The issue is it is just not funny - not even close. Humor is a nuanced art seldom wielded well by finance geeks even if they have a great platform :) My love for RV is not diminished though. You all rock!

Remember that humour also tied to culture so what would turn on some American youth would definitely turn off some European customers

A little humour can go a long way it seems. From the previous comments maybe a bit too far. If we want humour we can go to YouTube or other online zones It appears this is the first such message pn RealVision and maybe it should be the last too!

      1 July 2019 @ 13:07
Quite right Paul - and hopefully you still get your serious investment analysis from us. This film is simply a gentle way of us telling our subscribers about some of the services we offer as a company. You see, all the time we get asked about things like sponsorship, making custom videos, enterprise subscriptions, helping clients with live events etc and we wanted to find a way of talking about all this that wasn't a cheesy commercial. In fact we wanted to take the +**@ out of cheesy commercials. That's why we did it this way and I hope it makes sense now.

My biggest complaint about RV TV is that they bend over backwards to pander to millennials, who might think this silliness is cool. As I have said before, get serious, and stay serious.

So I buy a Tesla and it constantly mines Tescoins for me, and I spend these to buy solar power beamed from SpaceX satellites to the Solar City panel on the roof of my Tesla, and that powers my car for free, and if I save up enough Tescoins I get a free trip to Mars. Sounds good, but where does the coffee come in? Is that free too?

I know this was a joke but I honestly have been disappointed with the direction RV has been going. The material has moved much closer to this than RV would like to admit. I much more preferred the highly sophisticated product that only had long format interviews with extremely impressive individuals. RV used to be the Market Wizards books but as a TV show. Now it’s 5 minutes clips telling you to buy some random ETF. Years ago I used to watch every single video on RV and gained some value with every one. Now there is too much crappy content to even sort through to find the valuable videos. I prepaid for years of service expecting the format to remain the same. Instead the material has been dumbed down for a larger audience. I prepaid so I would have access to brilliant minds talk about things that I wouldn’t see on CNBC or couldn’t read about on investopedia.

After skimming on the thread of comments below, I kept myself in this trade idea and watched it full. What worried me at the end is that RV is slightly pulling itself out from the dynamic and serious investment content to becoming somewhat usual subscription based quick schemes in the internet! Imagine a RV with once over $500 annual subscription price in its initial years and now discounted three-fold to get more people and what this new type of interview seems to imply me that there would be some funding issues by being the premium commercial platform of whoever wants to pay? If someone checks the interviewees in the last 6 to 8 months, this type of content has already been there but it was implicitly covered by the name of the companies they were representing. So anybody could be kindly follow these people to be acquired as new members of their platforms (i.e. Hedgeye etc.) and they pay back to RV for this. What has changed, I will leave with you!

to rv. i had no problem with your short commedy piece. i understood it was different from the beginning. but apparently not everyone did. so if you want to have more fun and not irritate the slow ones, maybe put spoof in the title, or wear a ballhat that says spoof or closer copy the intro to saturday night live style or something obvious.

I concur with the idea of having sponsored interviews. I believe Real Vision TV can has the ability to do then suitably. Please make sure they are suitably labelled as sponsored. And also if they don't really turn out - but end up being CNBC clones, don't be afraid to cancel the idea. And don't ever sacrifice the long form interviews, the bedrock of Real Vision TV.

I am totally confused. Thought this was just a comical thing, and then listened to Alex's pitch at the end...what the hell?! First, Raoul talking about RV helping people to make custom videos and now this?! I hope this is not for real, or it represents a shocking change in business strategy, and possibly quality as well. Love RV generally, so this has taken me aback somewhat. Will wait and see.

Real vision direction has changed dramatically. When a company is successful, 90% of the owners want to capture market share & keep everyone happy. Never happens. YOU WANT TO MAKE $$$, find a nitch and be the BEST/GREATEST IN THAT NITCH. MY EXPERIENCE (cost me millions).
