Like some others have said below Morgan Creek Tactical Allocation Fund Class I return is -6% for Q2, -21% for yr, - 7% from inception. The miss from benchmark is from 8% to 19%. A complete performance disaster.

this is a interesting video, but looking at returns alone is only half of the picture. Risk adjusted returns is what you should look for bonds have lower returns than stocks but less volatility...which means you can leverage and get the same or higher returns. Also expectancy of a return should be equated : A high return with low prob of success is just as good as a low return with high prob...

Full of absolutely incredible insight. When Mark effortlessly listed out the cycles of venture capital by starting with "the mainframe" I was floored.

Private Equity -near perfect correlation with public markets over long term -persistence is top quartile managers has disappeared with growth in assets -compression between top and bottom quartile with growth in assets -incredibly expensive (5-7%) see Ludovic Phallipou -small buyouts have a beta of 1.6+

Its interesting how absolute and confident he is, and then you look at the returns... A little dissapointed someone like this is allowed onto the channel. These guys are dangerous with their perceived 'high level thinking' and garbage risk management.

Look at the flow of funds into direct lenders and PE... Private investment will eventually be "priced to perfection" in a NIRP/ZIRP environment. I agree with illiquidity as the last redoubt but let's not pretend that it is the be-all and end-all for investors.

Mark is an awesome stategic thinker. I don't know where he gets the time to write his quarterly reports. The last one is required reading but make sure you have a good drink as a five act play has nothing on this one...
