Great short video on a straightforward process. I know many experienced traders who wait for the retrace to get short/long after the breakdown/up.

Thanks, Lucas. The biggest moves over the last year have shown material cracks first. Seems worth it to wait for them.

Thanks, Michael. I agree. Seeing indicators/patterns/systems fail tell you a lot about the present environment.

I have been following Frank's written research for a while now and consider his discipline and structure (and focus on market internals) to ground his work and be unique among street technicians. Thanks to Real Vision for having him back and hope to see him again.

This is a great exercise Frank. Especially for someone that got mauled in the short "Battle at 2600." Thanks for illustrating that process, super useful guidance on the steps of a bearish pattern development.

    too subjective to be actionable

Hi David. Thx for the feedback. Fair point. I'd argue that every indicator or system is subjective to some extent, which is why so many exist. As many astute traders on this platform talk about, it's more about paying attention to one's rules, regardless of what they are.

Disagree, he made a great point that in any market one can see bullish and bearish formations. His idea of an oscillator attempts to cut thru the subjectivity and give some objectivity.

This is a great primer on drilling down to smaller time frames to get an actionable entry. Price action today so far cooperating with the latest bearish pattern off 2800 you lay out here. Initial drop and retracement to the pattern's trendline is one thing, but dropping 3 times from the volume-weighted average price (a Brian Shannon favorite) from the recent SPY high (twice yesterday and once today) is another encouraging sign. A move below 277 would get me interested.
