Public vs. Private Capital: Taking Advantage of Misaligned Incentives

The Interview ·
Featuring David Blumberg

Published on: May 17th, 2019 • Duration: 43 minutes

David Blumberg, founder and managing partner of Blumberg Capital, discusses the state of the venture capital markets with Real Vision’s Tyler Neville. According to Blumberg, innovation is still alive and well in the technology space. Given the falling cost of capex and better distribution channels for marketing and sales, the ability to scale companies is much easier than ever before. Blumberg participates in Seed and Series A round investments, where he usually takes a seat on the board to guide entrepreneurs in building their companies. Blumberg has identified a giant inefficiency between the large legacy companies and the startups providing efficient solutions to the marketplace. Agnostic towards the macro environment, Blumberg argues there is too much capital for private ventures and too few great ideas. Filmed on May 9, 2019 in San Francisco.

So true. I turned down a job at the Ames Research Center in Mountain View for a job in Detroit. Same salary--can live like royalty here.

I disagree. I thought this interview was great. David shared some interesting insights into the new era of process automation of B2B systems.

Agree this was a terribly wasted interview on the absolute basics of VC with no insightful information. Horribly unprepared interviewer
