Am I reading the last chart correctly? It looks to me like Peter is forecasting a further decline of bond prices based on this methodology but he’s already at the bottom (which I can only know because I live in the future). Not that he has to be right all the time, but in this case it looks like he’s very wrong. Unless I missed something obvious. Which I do all the time.

I would be most interested to learn what does Peter's P&L look like for historical/back-tested 'bearish signals' i.e. has this approach produced positive P&L for bearish signals?

the service offers a weekend update on mkts about 15-20 pages plus some extra email alerts, easily pays fot itself and i would even recommend it to people who do not trade actively, just to understand how a technical analyst thinks

@Peter Based on this indicator, did the gold daily chart just repeat what it did in June? I'm seeing the same setup based on the "long candle" formed on August 13.

If you were going to write this buy/sell indicator into an algorithm, how would you express this?

i think what makes it work for Peter is his massive experience and natural intelligence. You cannot put that in an algo mate ;) Technically what diverging bollinger bands indicate is rise in realized volatility (of 18 days closing prices in this particular case). Trivial to implement but your edge for such a trading rule will be very close to 0.5.
