Agreed in part. The idea that technology is the savior of all our problems is starting to sound like it's also our opioid for everything ( paraphrasing Art Berman there.) On the other hand I'll be your Huckleberry ...if tech is going to save us what's to say that tech isn't still based on higher output or more efficient output per unit of energy via current carbon based energy resources. We have a rapidly declining rural population around the world. Urbanization is where we are headed more and moreover. Municipal transit systems of far more energy efficient then rural systems of transport. There's way too many variables to consider at this stage based on projections of decades forward and the numbers being projected. As populations urbanize countries birth rates also fall. We will have more denser Cities and more efficient energy infrastructure projects becaue of it. Getting to ahead of ourselves unless these new tech are heavily subsidized.
