A good executive is an information seeker, because he cannot solve the paradigm but is driven to pull it together. And, this is the case here. On the down side, he needs to polish his image: The body language, at times, went in a different direction than the words spoken. A professional trainer will recognize those moments.

Totally agree with his comments around 17:00 - a pipeline of potential themes and background thesis that you can dig into and development your own trade ideas from is great for independent traders/investors. Great idea.

The last 15 min of the interview is pristine! Not sure if you get more contrary than the idea of investing in a beer company in Indenosia after 99% loss in its value. There is so much learn from this interview than saying it is a sale pitch.

So what's the one key point that is iterated over and over again by those that are interviewed on RV - oh that's right - DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH! Its ultimately what can give you an edge. But if everyone has access to the SAME research so that everyone forms the SAME opinion and enters into the SAME trades where does that leave you - probably at the mercy of those who got the research before you did and are front-running your stupidity. This has been tried before, its not new. If you think about it long enough and hard enough you'll see why this probably won't work.

I guess all the down votes are people upset about the absolute deflationary onslaught coming to the equity research space??? Incredible platform idea that will surely have a lot of job casualties piled up along the way...

A sales pitch but with some interesting trade ideas outside the usual suspects. Worth a follow up in 12 months.

Forward straight to the bit on Frontier markets. Some interesting ideas here. Would be nice to see more analysis of the frontier opportunity particularly given Raoul's "Monsoon" investment theme.

Not bad idea.. but I cannot be a client . It's like me telling all property owners that my firm can service your drainage BUT only if you own a bungalow 😦

Great stuff. Love what he's trying to do. India and Indonesia are two very interesting stories that everyone worth their salt should have on their radar by now.
