If the Fed isn't independent and wants Trump to fail at a second term, they can always hike him out of office via an induced financial calamity.

I guess if you get the short term call on USD correct, everything flows from there. If you assume a dovish hike by Powell, the USD probably sells off and we get a risk rally for equity markets. If this scenario unfolds, the revealing part will be to look at the relative performance of commodities and commodity stocks. If you are into fixed income, maybe looking at what the yield curve is doing under a dovish hike scenario will be a good tell for equity sector relative strength. I bought a new dartboard on the weekend. Should be fun.

But the weaker US dollar and bubbly high-on-crack US stocks could crash together, just like they both plunged together once again today. BTW, look at what soared against USD most of all; EM FX - great call by some gurus.

Uranium might be good to look at too, especially Athabasca names like DNN, NXE, FCCUF and others (check out epstatistics.com for your favorites in gold / silver / uranium / nickel / zinc / copper / cobalt).

He’s lost it. His think tank piece contradicts what he is saying here. He obviously flopped his calls.
