XLK:SPY is higher than its Jan 18 highs and its recent correction has only brought it back to the top of an up channel which started in 2013. With non recessionary economic indicators, a stupendous selloff, and mucho bear commentary emerging from the woodwork, this is actually the time to buy.

I wonder whether Mr Keller, CMT, thinks we're in a 4th wave or an A / 1 wave? Unclear without a chart but it sounds like the latter, though I see it as most probably the former.

Nice to have a market technician although I really wish he'd dived more into the techs!! Love how he said that the technicals lead the fundamentals, and then AFTER the move, typically called in advance by the technicians, the fundamental analysts belatedly revise their after-the-fact reasons as to "why" the move happened, lol. In other words, fundamentals aren't very useful. Like how all those fundamentals analysts said the "economy is strong, bull market will soar in the 4th quearter", and similarly for their expectations of a December rally.

David R. - IMO Mr. Keller's statement that technical analysis shows the market turn before the fundamental story explains why it turned is reasonable. Of course, this is a significant benefit for day trading. Is it enough for you make an initial position for a possible longer trade? Do you move more into the trade when you understand the fundamentals? How often do you see this setup? I am just trying to understand the tactics of the trade. Happy New Year! DLS

Disagree, fundamentals are suppose to be forward looking not just what's happened. Why do trend change, because the participants are forward thinking worsening fundamentals, thus the change in price direction.

      C. G. - IMO you are correct about fundamentals may be the making the market turn. The question here is when can you first see the change that is driven by fundamentals bets. It may be in the technical. This assumes that someone is making a difference by doing fundamental or technical analysis. DLS
