We're Taking Over Las Vegas

We Took Over Las Vegas

In-person, Las Vegas, NV. Online, Worldwide. Dec. 9-11, 2021.

Real Vision and MGM Resorts have joined forces to host a groundbreaking event on the biggest revolution since the internet: blockchain.

At the iconic MGM Grand in Las Vegas, we’ll be exploring blockchain’s present and future… how it’s touching almost every industry and transforming our lives — and we’re still only in the early days.

The Takeover will be a big event with big names and even bigger ideas. The current price of bitcoin will probably be discussed during lunch, but rarely on stage…

And the After-Dark Takeover will bring the community together with parties in some of Las Vegas’ most celebrated venues (and bring the house down).

Featured Speakers...

Here are just 6 of the rock stars joining us live in Las Vegas — featured speakers updated regularly.

Raoul Pal

With the Cayman Islands’ closing its borders for much of the last 18 months, having the CEO and co-founder of Real Vision on the ground in Vegas wasn’t a done deal… but now it is. Raoul will be hosting and joining several chats onstage and at parties…

Micah Johnson

The creator of “Aku Dreams” will be joining us in Las Vegas for a special panel hosted by Delphi Digital’s Kevin Kelly. Buckle up for a fascinating discussion on building a Web 3.0 native media company, how it will transform the media landscape, and what it means for us as the audience.

Timbaland

The multi-platinum Grammy-winning super-producer was recently ranked by Billboard Number 3 on a list of the 50 greatest producers of the 21st century. He has launched his own NFT series, Opera Noir, and he’ll be talking about the future of music ownership  and more.

Bill Tai

The legendary VC and chairman of ACTAI Global will be blowing minds live in Vegas with his views on where this generation-defining journey is taking us. He’s joining an all-star panel called (of course) Where We’re Going, We Don’t Need Roads.

Perianne Boring

Perianne is the founder and president of the Chamber of Digital Commerce, the world’s largest trade association representing the blockchain industry. She’ll be joining Caitlin Long to discuss regulations (and a few more surprises)…

Caitlin Long

When you want someone to discuss, predict, and strategize on the state of crypto regulation on a state level… you want Caitlin Long, founder and CIO of Avanti Financial Group. She’ll be joined by Perianne Boring, founder and president of the Chamber of Digital Commerce.

The Experience

Extraordinary experiences. Iconic venues. Rule-breaking content with big names.

After-dark parties and dinners. The in-person experience in Las Vegas will be unforgettable…

(For Covid protocols, see here.)

As the in-person numbers are strictly limited and because we want to give everyone the chance to join us, The Takeover will be a truly hybrid experience — with unlimited virtual passes.

The Agenda

A Stake In… Arts & Entertainment

NFTs. DAOs. Fan tokens. It’s a new era of ownership, community, and business models, and it’s transforming entire industries overnight. Where do we go from here?

A Stake In… Society & Business

Decentralized technology is giving communities a real stake in everything from environmental changes to cannabis manufacturing, from healthcare to racial bias. What does society 10 years from now look like?

A Stake In… Finance & Investing

Hey Wall Street, there’s a new occupier in town. The fractionalization of everything is here: from collectibles to real estate to people themselves. Could this be the true democratization of finance?

A Stake In… Regulation

Even a year ago, crypto was still the Wild Wild West. Now we’re down to the Wild West, with the mainstream takeover happening at a dizzying pace. As regulators struggle to keep up, what’s next?

All times are US Pacific Time (PST)

Important info for booking your flights… Event registration will start from 2:00pm PST on Thursday, December 9, and continue throughout.

Opening sessions will start later that day at 5:00pm PST.

On the last day, Saturday December 11, sessions end at 5:30pm PST, and the party (and after party) will run to around 2:00am PST.

Here’s a taste of what’s coming up…
5 Tracks: Arts and Entertainment, Regulation, Finance and Investing, Society and Business, the Future.

Important: All sessions excluding VIP-only sessions will be recorded – and all attendees get post-event access.

André Allen Anjos RAC

Artist

RAC’s melody-driven indie-electronica washes over you like faint memories. The songs are soft, light, warm, and comforting, as though revisiting old photo albums and recalling years gone by without any of the day-to-day struggles. It’s at peace with the past, while lodged in the present.

Anjos had an unusual upbringing. He was raised overseas to parents who both worked as missionaries. His mother is American, and he always felt torn between worlds in terms of nationality, first language, even the concept of home itself. “I didn’t feel a part of any specific world, it was a bit alienating,” he recalls.

‘BOY’ pulls from these nascent years; ones in which words weren’t doing the talking, but more esoteric languages – little melodic phrases that would be stuck in his head, or plain pangs of the heart. Back in his youth, Anjos had to do it all from scratch with no knowledge of how to create. He was his own teacher and guide.

In the years since, he’s released three LPs, worked on Linkin Park’s final album, TV and film soundtracks, scored a ballet and remixed everyone from Lana del Rey to Odesza to Bob Marley. His songs have been streamed over half a billion times, he’s won a Grammy and his live performances have taken him to festivals the world over. He feels at ease with his success, and in a place of liberation to do and make as he pleases. The process of ‘BOY’ has changed him in a way that is now guiding his next moves.
