Brazil Frost Update

Published on: July 28th, 2021

A major coffee frost has struck Brazil for the first time in 26 years and threatens to take up to 20 million bags of coffee off the market. In this report, Shawn Hackett, president of Hackett Financial Advisors, explores whether this event offers explosive upside potential for coffee and other commodities such as orange juice. Hackett looks at the futures curve of coffee with particular calendar spreads for coffee trading out of line. This report is a companion piece to Hackett’s interview with Jack Farley on Real Vision Live (available to all Plus members).
