In Focus Trade Portfolio – September 1, 2022

Published on: September 2nd, 2022

This publication is your ‘go-to’ to view a summary of trade recommendations proposed by Julian and Raoul in their respective In Focus pieces. Each month, we update the performance of these trade recommendations. Important note: Julian and team have updated stops for the SPX puts positions. The updated stops are in this Trade Portfolio update, and you can see the original thesis and stops in Julian’s Flash Update from August 19 here: https://rvtv.io/3B6526W

It looks like the Tesla stock split was not accounted for when calculating performance. Am I mistaken ?

you are not mistaken. BTW, the entry price is "averaged entry price" rather than the price on the entry date.

Just a question with regards to Julian's SPX Put which I am happy to say I have on. The write up indicates that the stop was set at 4,100 but looking at the SPX closing prices it seems as though it was higher than this when the trade was initiated. Aug 19 4,253 or Aug 22 4,129. Merely trying to understand if this is a retroactive stop that has been suggested given how well the trade has done in so short a period of time as I see no mention of a stop in the flash update that initiated the trade. Not a ctiticism by any means just trying to understand the logic so I can better size my positions based on the learnings from the Academy,

Just a comment regarding Raoul's 2 bond futures trades, the 2 year and the 10 year. The 10 year is down about 3.5 full points, which is more than 5000$ as 1/64th of a point is $15,625. Only if you have 165.000$ in your margin trading account, you can say this is a -2.96% loss as stated. For some who has 10.000$ in a trading account it is a 50% loss. So the loss/profit calculated for when Raoul or Julian recommends to buy/sell a futures contract is not accurate or fair in my opinion.

I wonder how many people will start doing the exact opposite of what Raoul suggests? Would have been quite profitable over the last year. On second thoughts, I may well renew my subscription next year to do exactly this........
