Nonfarm Payrolls Show Abysmal U.S. Job Growth as Oil Futures Spike
DB-Oct8,2021: The U.S. nonfarm payrolls data revealed that a mere 194,000 jobs were added in September, a major miss on the 500,000 median estimate and the slowest month in U.S. job growth so far in 2021. Meanwhile, U.S. crude futures peaked at $80 a barrel, the highest it's been since November 2014, as energy supply remains tight.
