Folks, you know I have enjoyed the daily brief since it started. If we're going to talk about the stimulus bills, though, I'd prefer it be less like CNBC or CNN (ie narrative read from press release) than dig into what the bills are a bit. Specifically, how much of this stimulus goes directly to individuals, small businesses, and then how much goes to other overhead would be the macro question I'm most interested in. A good starting point is something like: https://www.crfb.org/blogs/comparing-heroes-and-heals-acts If we're not going to do the RV deep understanding, let's just say "both sides continue to argue about how much money to spend over the next several years".

I think is a great how transparently and humbly jack explained the issue with the DB of today. I will only have one comment to Jack- be more confident you have a lot to show to us! Empower yourself more! You are great and we all love to have you as interviewee. We all need to built up our confidence and I hope my comments make you also built up yours and shine even more! Keep it up Jack!

Ash and I talked about it off-camera - we didn't want to denigrate a company whose business model could in fact be successful. However it is particularly emblematic of this "bubblicious" market. And business quality and bubbliciousness aren't mutually exclusive. For example Amazon has proved enormously successful, even though it crashed over 90% after the dot-com bubble burst.

Hi all, just so you know, Dave Floyd was scheduled to be the guest today, but his internet cut out, so I was called in as a pinch hitter at the last moment. Normally the guest and host confer before to go over topics, but Ash and I didn't have time to do that. So this was just me and Ash "winging it," and as such this episode is less focused than other RVDBs. Just a heads-up!

No worries, but a pic of Dave and him by phone works, as well...though we’re always happy to have “Hollywood Jack” on the vine.

It was still good though. Enough relevant content to keep me engaged and some insightful comments. I do think that Ash is a great interviewer. Just when I thought things might go off the rails....Ash just taps things back into place. No crazy soliloquies coming out of anyone's mouth when Ash is in charge! Good job guys!

Interesting to see the depth of your knowledge in an impromptu format. Realvision must have some pretty dense company BBQ conversations!

I agree, Bill, Ash is a great interviewer. And he made it easy in this *extremely unscripted* daily briefing

I just made a watchlist of all of the 2020 IPOs based on this interview. When you are actively listening for gems, you find them. Everyone is at a didn't level. I found value today.

*different. Are we ever going to be able to edit our comments? IG has that annoyance too. Here, I can't even delete my comment and do it over if I wanted to.

Haley, Please, please...ya gotta stop with the “I think” prognosticating when referring to markets. Even grey-haired portfolio managers don’t approach their commentary in such a fashion. The best ones lay out a process-centric path to favorable odds. Just the facts, please , ma’am. Thank you.

I couldn’t disagree with Sean more. I like hearing informed opinions, personal analysis and thoughts as opposed to the same old “just the facts” crap you get from CNBC, etc. Don’t try to censor anyone, Sean. The more perspective we get, the better the content. That’s part of the reason RV is so unique and great.

What a ridiculous comment. Everyone else on RVDB is constantly giving their opinions so I'm not sure why you've decided Haley should be the exception but since clearly several of us disagree with your own ill-informed opinion on this, hopefully she'll ignore your comment.

Snowflakes, Feel free to adjust your client allocations based on the global macro opinion of a former CNN reporter. I’ll skip those forecasts and stick to the data and the interviews with the experts. Triggered? 🙄

Grey-haired portfolio managers make statements like that all the time. The biggest difference is, I actually believe that, that is her opinion, as opposed to the grey-haired guy saying what he wants me to believe. I'm still waiting on Bill Ackman's teary-eyed prognostications to come to fruition.

The noise that helicopters make will get them banned in wealthy gated communities, surely?

This was fun. Not steeped in technical, but fun. I think doing impromptu every other week would be good. Why? Force the RV DB folks to step up and have a raw discussion. Not right, not wrong, but raw. Provokes followup and feedback will tune direction. For example, we are in middle an IPO frenzy where the companies have fairly large caps relative to the rest of the market and no path to profitability. They are off to the side of real world flows, I don't play here, but it seems like a meltdown waiting to happen.

20 Minutes of an impromptu DB is still better than 20 hours of those other networks. Looking forward to your discussion on employment next week. Lots of positive news about the vaccine but things that are still inconclusive are 1) will enough people agree to get vaccinated to reach heard immunity and 2) how long the benefits of the vaccine will last. These 2 going hand in hand. If Covid is with us for the long haul, how likely are we to see a demand pickup. We are still short 10M jobs, so no doubt we are still nowhere near where we need to be. Thanks guys!
