Dan Rasmussen, founder and CIO of Verdad Advisors, joins Real Vision to discuss investment strategies that outperform in times of crisis as well as markets that are under-allocated by global investors. Rasmussen stresses the importance of credit markets in driving the macroeconomy as well as developing an understanding of where you are within the business cycle using signals from credit markets. In order to invest during crisis, Rasmussen’s research points to the small-cap value and other illiquid asset classes as the most effective investments coming out of a crisis such as Covid-19 in March 2020. Rasmussen also believes that pessimistic sentiment has incorrectly under-allocated assets to Japan even though they have a high number of quality stocks. Filmed on August 3, 2021.
