Dead money for a long time, but I’m still holding out hope with the preferreds. Depending on the government to do the right things for a return is always a risky proposition.

Great stuff! I appreciate the incite on timing and what might play out in 2019. The preferreds seem less binary than the common in that they offer similar upside but retain the possibility of capital recovery via the courts or a settlement.

Appreciate the political color. But nothing on the Fed's MBS holdings? The time to get into this trade was 2012-2014 (20x bagger) as the balance sheet exploded or October last year (-50% the other way since then) as they unwound their balance sheet. Surprised no one on RV has ever talked about this correlated. Maybe something to play with options, so it's not such a coin toss, but Ackman has been in this trade/option since 2015 lol
