May 27, 2022 • 9 minutes

Welcome to the final episode of this special series. A series that looks back over the last two years since the tragic death of George Floyd in May of 2020, and how it subsequently brought about change around the world. In the last episode we took a look at the progress made so far within UK finance, a sector that came under great scrutiny for its inequality, discrimination and lack of representation for ethnic minorities. However, improving statistics and new initiatives showed definite signs of progress, which is hugely encouraging, but there is still a long way to go. In this three-part special series, Real Vision’s Roger Hirst is joined by Michael Barrington Hibbert, on the two year anniversary of George Floyd’s murder, to discuss why the UK finance industry came under such scrutiny, what progress has been made, and the next steps.
